Lachlan Gauchier Signature Deck

Posted on novembre 04 2020

We caught up with our boy Lachlan Gauchier to get some more info on his new signature deck that just dropped, his inspirations, how he chose the colourway and the meaning behind his graphics: What’s goodie brother? What have you been up to as of recent? Anything new and exciting? Hey bool how’s it goin. I’ve been good. I’ve been enjoying fall, Lots of kendama and I’ve been working at a warehouse. I just got a job yesterday actually as a junior aspiring arborist. So it’s looking like you’ve got yourself a fancy new signature deck, and boy is it a pretty one. How are you feeling about getting a second signature deck? I’m super stoked on the new deck coming out and super honoured to have the opportunity to have “legauch” printed on another scooter and call it mine. I've been loving the new size and weight of the new north decks and can’t see my feet on anything else. So obviously with this one, the size has gotten bigger from the previous deck. Coming in at 5.6 wide by 23 long, what made you change up the specs this time around? Also, why’s there a brake?! Off the record; The no brake was a liability. On the record; North came out with the horizon and I grew to like it so much, it was normal for me. I thought if I had another sig deck I’d like the specs to be what I’m used to. Also, with scootering how it is, all the parts have been stepping up a size so I thought I'd try and fit in with the 5.6. One thing that stayed relatively the same however is the colour. Although it’s not the exact same as the previous version, how’d you decide on this beautiful dark aqua colour? Well, the June bug was my favourite colour a scooter has even been and I thought I couldn’t insult it by trying to recreate. I wanted something darker, not as bright and in your face and something you could match with other parts well. Want to drop some intel on the new deck graphic? How’d you decide on it and what’s it mean to you? I was inspired by a graphic I saw in Victoria with my girlfriend. I love birds! I even took an evolution of birds course online recently. Also the bird represents (even though it is not exact) a Canadian Goose which is an extremely common bird we see here in Western Canada. He has a little flare of colour on him because I too have a little flare of colour in me. ;) Any other shoutouts you want to make while we’re here? There’s too many shoutouts to go through. Thank you to everyone who has been by my side through the thick and thin and who have inspired me to keep my dreams alive and to keep striving for better opportunities. And a quick message from our sponsors: 1-800-HOTSOUP, Weezlepro Scooters, North Scooters and all my homies from Outset Select. We caught up with our boy Lachlan Gauchier to get some more info on his new signature deck that just dropped, his inspirations, how he chose the colourway and the meaning behind his  graphics:What’s goodie brother?
